Statehood Now Candidates Forum
The Stand Up for Democracy in DC Coalition will present a "Statehood Now" forum for candidates for Delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. "Shadow" Representative and U.S. "Shadow" Senator from District of Columbia on Friday, Sept. 5, 7-9 p.m. at the University of the District of Columbia Van Ness Campus, Building 39, room 201. The candidates will be asked to address how they intend to use their offices to achieve statehood for DC.

How Will They Respond?
Questionaires were sent to all of the candidates that Stand Up! invited to next month's Statehood Now Candidates Forum.

Obama Supports DC Statehood?

Several passages in Audacity of Hope taken together might suggest Barack Obama's susceptibility to arguments for DC statehood. Chapter 8 on The World Beyond Our Borders is a good piece of philosophy on USofA's needed overhaul of its foreign policy. It relates, trust me!

DC Mayor Dons Free DC Ball Cap

fenty-brown-aide.JPGIt would seem our hard-charging shadow senator, Michael Brown, has gotten Mayor Adrian Fenty to swap his fedora for a Free DC ballcap. Also pictured here is Hellen Matarazzo. Way to go, Mike! Smile

Inside Scoop Interview

Anise Jenkins was interviewed live on Fairfax Public TV, Channel 10! "Inside Scoop" did a DC Voting Rights Show on Sunday May 5th, 2007. Hey, we go to voting rights stuff, too!

If you live in Alexandria VA, you'll have to watch it online. It's been banned by Alexandria public access TV some say because Ms. Jenkins displayed Terry William's DC Madonna political cartoon!
