    Marilyn Preston Killingham

    Awarded annually to a youth who resides in the District of Columbia, the scholarship promotes an educational understanding of the quest for Statehood.

    Mrs. Marilyn Killingham was an avid supporter of Statehood for the District of Columbia. The scholarship is awarded in Mrs. Killingham’s memory for her activism and global efforts to improve the quality of life for youth and citizens.

    A Letter to Our Friends

    In the year to come, we are planning an ambitious educational and outreach campaign to engage more people than ever in the full-democracy campaign. We will work with civic associations, Advisory Neighborhood Commissions, churches and other institutions to educate the public about the benefits statehood would bring to the District.
