Hilda Howland Minnis Mason, DC Statehood advocate, former DC Council member and "Grandmother to the World" passed away this morning at 7:15 A.M. at the Washington Hospital Center.

Funeral services will be conducted by Cook & Minnis Funeral Home at Shiloh Baptist Church in Lynch Station, VA. Hilda will be interred at the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery where her parents and most of her siblings and her grandson are interred. (Latest: services will held of Saturday Dec. 22 and funeral on Sunday Dec. 23 noon)

The members of Stand Up! mourn the loss of Ms. Mason, and we will forever honor her for her devotion and works for DC Statehood and for her lifetime of hard work for the good of all.
